Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! Take a deep breath and settle in. There is no need to put on a mask or pretend you’re fine. You are welcome here, exactly as you are.
I’m Jacqueline, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist based in North Bay, Ontario. I support adults living with chronic health conditions, experiencing anxiety, going through life transitions, living with trauma, and burnout.
I am here for you if you’ve ever experienced:
- Anxiety about an unpredictable future, whether you are wondering if your body will hold up or how you will navigate new challenges.
- Depression and profound exhaustion that sets in when the weight of your struggles feels too heavy to carry alone.
- Grief for the life you had and the version of yourself “before”, mourning a past chapter or a sense of self that vanished when everything changed.
- Stress and Burnout from trying to balance life’s relentless demands while adjusting to a constantly shifting terrain.
- Trauma and old roadblocks from past hurts, including the exhaustion of having your invisible struggles or illness dismissed by those around you.
As a Spoonie therapist, I understand firsthand the fatigue of moving through each day with limited energy, the frustration of feeling like your body is holding you back, and the quiet struggle between rest and responsibilities. You are so much more than your condition. I see you, and I’m here for you.
Together, we can work on rediscovering your confidence, reclaiming your identity, and recognizing your inherent worth.
My Approach to Therapy
My practice is guided by compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for all facets of your identity and lived experience. I draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while gently incorporating practical tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when they serve you. We won’t focus on “fixing” you. How you have coped up to this point has protected you and brought you this far.
Instead, this is a collaborative space where we can explore your core values and find active, sustainable ways to care for yourself that align with your available energy each day. Since chronic conditions live in the body as well as the mind, my approach is deeply nervous-system-led and experiential. Rather than just talking about your challenges, we will let the body lead and explore the felt sense of what is keeping you stuck. To support this deep mind-body connection, I specialize in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT, or ‘Tapping’), a gentle mind-body technique where we lightly tap on specific acupressure points on the face and body to calm the body’s alarm system. This helps release stored emotional tension, creating space for physical and mental relief. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed parts work to help you navigate internal conflict with compassion, honouring the different parts trying to protect you.
Ultimately, your therapy experience will be completely tailored to your capacity. I offer a soft, non-judgmental space where you can land safely, no matter where life’s ups and downs have carried you. We will work together to regulate your nervous system, honour your boundaries, and build a meaningful path forward at your body’s unique pace. You are wholly deserving of a full and fulfilling life. Together, let’s turn towards what gives you life, even when the shadows feel heavy.
Beyond the Therapy Couch
On a more personal note, when I’m not working, you can usually find me video calling my beloved fur nephews, Duncan (a Border Collie) and Digby (a Nova Scotian Duck Toller). To wind down, I love getting lost in a good book, working out, or playing a few cozy games.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. It would be my absolute honour to accompany you on your journey toward healing and renewed well-being.
Ready to connect? If you are wondering whether we might be a good fit, I invite you to book a free consultation. We can chat, answer any questions you have, and determine together how I can best support you.
